SOUNDS LIKE: James Morrison, Keane
Canadian singer-songwriter Nate Adamson released his debut single “Grace” on September 18, 2020. “Grace” shows of Adamson’s well-controlled vocals and skillful songwriting, paired with a relaxed accompaniment that feels contemplative at times.
The song begins with his warm vocals, and a smooth guitar accompanying the song’s unique message. While the song’s message is about following one’s dreams, Adamson makes references to a girl named Grace, encouraging her to follow her passions herself. “Grace”, Adamson explains, is “sort of a letter to [his] future children”. Listening to this song, Adamson’s emotions are the star of the show, as his mellow vocals support the instrumentals to deliver a powerful and uplifting message. As the guitar sweeps us away almost hypnotically at times, Adamson is able to draw us back in with his warm tone and lush lyricism.
“Grace” is a well-crafted story that allows the listener to peek a bit into Nate Adamson’s soul, as we learn about his own dreams, and the dreams that he himself hopes to pass on to future generations. We’ve definitely become big fans of Nate Adamson, and we’ll definitely be keeping “Grace” on repeat.
We can’t wait for what’s next for Nate Adamson, so stay tuned for his next single “Waiting” coming out next month!
