Lauren Alex Hooper of Brighton, England, recently dropped a 5 track EP entitled "Honest" which explores an internal dialogue, and a journey to find hope and inner peace. The final song, "Honest" is still yet to be released.
The EP starts off with a song called "Bad Night" which seems to be an ode to her strength. The song has a driving hook, and is almost dream-like. As the EP progresses, it moves into an almost Evanescence-like song called "Clarity" that plays with a raw vulnerability and longing, paired with synth sounds and an overdriven guitar . "Clarity" is perhaps Hooper's most relatable track, through both its lyrics and melody, which feel both familiar and foreign at the same time, as if Hooper is writing about us as well. "Sounds Like Hope" may be the most emotional track on the EP, starting off with a resonant guitar and eventually blending into her peaceful vocal. After the turbulent emotions portrayed in the first two tracks, this one may bring you to tears. Again, Hooper's relatable lyrics may bring you some solace, as she seemingly narrates our own experiences and helps us come to terms with reality. Closing with "Back To Life" completes this journey that the EP takes us through, the upbeat hopeful sound of this track is perhaps what makes this whole story of "Honest" that much more convincing.
Lauren Alex Hooper has achieved a milestone when it comes to full-circle storytelling, and we can't wait to hear more from her!

Tina Vonn has got soul. This songstress from Los Angeles has got a voice reminiscent of some of the most powerful singers of our generation (Amy Winehouse and Christina Aguilera to name a few).
Vonn’s newest work, “Bring Me Back” immediately brings you to a state of inner peace. The warmth of the guitar, paired with Vonn’s raspy yet refined voice draw you in, melting your surroundings away and transporting you to another space—one that seems so familiar. Vonn’s lyricism is both smooth and relatable, and listening to her tracks can’t help but bring you back to a specific experience, regardless of who you are or where you might come from. Another one of her singles, “Better Day” is so brilliantly put together, that it pulls at all of your heartstrings. As the song builds, so does the emotion brewing within. The melancholic strings paired with her powerful vocals makes this song so convincing in its message, that it can be compared to Adele’s genius ballads.
Tina Vonn is an instant addiction, listening to one track leads to an almost inherent need to explore the rest of her discography. A rare phenomenon, Tina Vonn pairs an epochal familiarity with a sultry kind of mystery… Let her be the new artist you fall in love with.

SOUNDS LIKE: Bob Dylan
Wilson Speaks is a musician from Salt Lake City, Utah whose sound is a breath of fresh air in the world of hyper-produced, refined popular music. His tracks are an ode to an almost Bob Dylan-like relatability, combined with an alternative, more modern sound.
The mellow sound of songs such as "Murmur" really dedicate to the alternative and indie inspirations behind the music, while ones such as "Tom Bombadil" provide an almost haunting loneliness to the listener. The production behind the tracks is understated, which makes Wilson Speaks so accessible as an artist.
Bringing you back to basics, Wilson Speaks is music for the people that brings a certain personability to his sound, check him out!

Ontario-based singer songwriter, Natalie Reis, released her debut EP "Bones On Fire" earlier this year, on March 27. An active creator on Instagram, this multi-instrumentalist released four influential tracks, titled "Lost It All", "Hell I Can't Wait", "Bones on Fire" and "Space and Time".
At first listen, it's difficult to pinpoint the familiarity with which Reis tells her stories. The bittersweet lyricism of "Lost It All" and the catchy vocal hook of "Hell I Can't Wait" are reminiscent of the best kind of country music, transporting the listener to Natalie's world, where she decides how the story ends. Featuring a passionate 8-bar solo by Nicholas Gierczak, "Hell I Can't Wait" is perhaps Reis' most convincing tale, only competing with the final track, "Space and Time", which boasts a folksy melody and a groove that just makes you want to dance.
While Natalie writes mainly about love, she doesn't only focus on the good things. "Bones on Fire - EP" is penned with a strong sense of self-awareness, exploring the longing and loss that comes with relationships. As a debut release, this one is definitely worth listening to, and Natalie Reis is someone you'd definitely want in your playlist.
