Ontario-based Anna Poc just released her EP "York Boulevard" on all streaming platforms, a record infused with Poc's smooth vocals and jazz influences.
"York Boulevard" features four tracks, all featuring Poc's warm voice paired with a mellow accompaniment. One of our personal favourites, "The Sweetest Sound" is a romantic track that feels like the perfect song. Poc's emotions really come through, and the stripped down accompaniment paired with the background vocals make this track feel both refined and personal, as if we're peeking into Anna Poc's soul. Following this track is "York Boulevard", the project's title track, which brings a happy energy to the track list, while still giving off the sort of smooth romanticism that seems to be Poc's specialty. As the project comes to a close, "Love in Motion" sends us off to a tranquil, dream like place. With this track, everything seems to be working together to complete the vision of this project, and Poc keeps us wanting more. By the time we finish listening to these tracks, we feel as if we too are driving down York Boulevard with Poc and the subject of her songs.
Anna Poc triumphantly achieves sonic cohesion with this release, and "York Boulevard' is both an incredibly written and produced EP that's sure to grace our playlists for months to come.

Demigodkord's rap is different. Like many great rappers of our time, his tracks are an honest ode to the people and experiences in his life.
"Text Reply" is his latest release, hinting at our new reality dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, but also a relationship with another and himself. His tracks are short and sweet, but they still leave you with this desire of wanting to hear more of what Demigodkord has to say. Our personal favourite track "Other People" has a certain vibe reminiscent of some of the most influential rappers, and its hook will definitely stay in your head for days after your first listen. Its authenticity and beat make it both relatable and addictive, and this is one we definitely want to keep on our playlists.
We can't wait until Demigodkord's next release, but until then we'll keep streaming his discography.

Canadian artist Maddisun recently released her album "Self Reflections" on all streaming platforms, and it is unlike anything we've heard before.
The album fuses traditional folk with modern sounds, and it sounds both timeless and trendy at the same time. Starting off with a song called "Mountain Air", Maddisun immediately pulls us in with a track that does all the right things. This tranquil, yet energetic release feels like it was made specifically for the listener, and it masterfully creates a warm ambience that makes you want to keep listening. As the album progresses, we discover "Differences", which is perhaps our favourite track on the album. The lyricism and production on this track is impeccable, and it's an exquisite demonstration of fusing the fresh and the familiar. Whether it's the song's grooviness or message, this one is exactly what we need to hear all the time. Maddisun ends the album with "Contrast", a vulnerable track that radiates relatability. This one is where Maddisun's vocal really shines through, forcing you to stop and listen. When the song ends, you can't help but replay it, just basking in Maddisun's artistry.
"Self Reflections" is definitely an incredible achievement, and we're sure that Maddisun will continue to exceed expectations with her future releases.

Vanessa Richardson is one of those artists you come across once in a while that have the power to bring you to a completely different dimension.
The warmth of her voice carries a sort of darkness, while her tracks push the boundaries of conventional alternative music. Through experimental samples and layering of background vocals, Richardson sets herself apart from other artists. Her lyrics, however powerful, are also extremely ambiguous, as she allows for the melodies and textures of the music to speak for themselves. One of our personal favourites, "Spider" combines percussive textures with an almost monologue-like vocal, peeking through the samples used to create these songs that are in themselves masterpieces.
Unlike many artists you've heard before, Vanessa Richardson dares to venture where others are too afraid, and we anxiously await her next release.

Birmingham-based Eliza May is undeniably Indie Pop. From her lyricism, to her punchy melodies, this artist embodies exactly the relatability and energy of some of the most popular artists of this genre.
Her release "Fading Away", however, is a multi-dimensional work of art which combines optimistic sounds with lyrics of an inevitable fate. At first listen, this track seems hopeful, but at its core it explores the dark side of losing somebody, and it carries a mature symbolism. May's masterful juxtaposition of the light with the dark is perhaps the most alluring part of this track, and it sets her apart as an artist who tells her stories through contrasting these emotions and themes of the human experience. While the lyrics tell their story, the song translates the feelings.
As we wait for Eliza May's next track, we encourage you to explore her existing releases.

The first time you hear Joshua Pascua, you'll immediately start to feel the music. This GTA-based artist has managed to capture a warmth in his tracks that complement his mellow vocal and become addictive to the listener.
"Empty Spaces" explores a certain escapism, which is exactly what Pascua manages to achieve with this release. Making you feel both invigorated and calm at the same time, it almost seems as though he's intentionally speaking to you through both his melody and lyrics. The atmosphere this track creates can be credited to the nearly hypnotizing riff that you'll be sure to remember even after the song ends. As the track fades out, it keeps you wanting more, and you might even find yourself replaying this song time and time again.
Pascua's latest release "Devil or the Angel Side" is his most driving release to date. This release doesn't disappoint, and his sultry lyrics keep you hanging on to every word. What's most satisfying about this track is the chorus, which simply melds into the structure of the song, but still gets stuck in your head just as easily.
We can't wait to hear what's next for Joshua, but until then we'll be keeping his songs on repeat.

Simultaneously giving you everything you need to hear and something you've never heard before, Desarae Dee captures your attention within seconds of listening.
This Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist stands against the rest, with her both ambient and driving sounds that transcend expectations and create an almost otherworldly atmosphere. Dee's latest release "LVLS" is no exception, bringing Neo-Fusion to another level and bringing the sort of authenticity which has come to be expected from her releases. A multifaceted yet cohesive piece, "LVLS" begins with simply a piano melody and reverse cymbal, growing into a driving, groovy middle section perhaps reflecting a sort of internal growth, before naturally progressing to its final section that almost feels meditative in quality.
"LVLS" masterfully captures a journey, and we can't wait to see what's next on Desarae Dee's.

Toronto-based Katryna Juras has recently released her latest single "The Love U Never Had".
This driving anthem is reminiscent of old-school R&B, exploring a hypothetical dialogue filled with sassy remarks, allowing for the personality to remain at the forefront this track. Starting off with a powerful beat, this song lets Katryna's vocal shine through, adding to the attitude with which this song was created. The addition of spoken lines further contributes to the relatability of "The Love U Never Had", and as the song continues to build, you can't help but sing along to the words that feel begin to feel so familiar.
A track with an impressive accompanying video, "The Love U Never Had" is exactly the kind of song we'd want to scream the words to.
