URBAN HIPPIE MUSIC SENDS US GOOD VIBES ONLY: INTERVIEW
Updated: Jun 11, 2021

Tell us a little bit more about your latest release. What was the writing/recording process like, and what influenced you to create it?
My latest release is called Good Vibes Only and came out on 7th November. This song has seen a few iterations, the music has changed, the lyrics have changed however they mantra has always stayed the same, Good Vibes Only. I'm a singer songwriter and producer so everything you hear is all me. Im a producer first and so pride myself on self producing, including mixing and mastering. I've been through dark times like so many others and have suffered with mental health issues and i wanted a song that embodied my philosophy as a musician and person in general and i feel like the vibe and words in this song sum me up perfectly.
What do you hope listeners take away from your latest release?
I hope people feel like they know me more when they hear this song. The main thing is to bring smiles to faces though. The entire song, whether it's the lyrics, the music, to even the birds tweeting at the beginning were created to bring a sense of calm and to uplift. Things are tense around the country and internationally at the moment, we could all use some good vibes. For the visuals I plan to include cameos from lots of independent musicians and so another thing i want people to take from this is to support all independent music, especially right now. So i will be tagging every artist and providing links to all their music too. Im a producer first.. So my passion is discovering talent and shining a light on it.
How would you describe your style of music?
My music is contemporary RnB with a nod to the classics. It's more a vibe than a genre. You don't just listen, its music you can feel. It hits you, whether it makes you happy, sad or just want to dance.
Who’s your favourite artist or band at the moment?
I recently caught Dave on iPlayer and so Lil Dicky is blowing my mind right now. I can't just name one artist though. H.E.R is just amazing and the consistency is unreal... And not to gloat but Birmingham is full of so much talent so last few months I've been keeping my ear close to home. So go listen to Darcy Holmes, Wuzzamill, Landel, Shoshanna, Ashley Zeal, Harrison James... Just to name a few.
When you’re not busy with music, what do you do?
My family started a kids charity in 2008 so naturally i do a lot of charity work. Whether it's working abroad or closer to home I'm always looking to find ways to put smiles on faces. I’m also a complete tech nerd so I’m always after the newest gadgets. I've spent a lot on tech that I've never used. My family has also been running restaurants since before i was born so I also have a big love for cooking. My whole family is big on cooking so the kitchen is important in my house. Everyone from my dad to my baby sis has their specialities.
